Paddington Halloween…

Paddington Halloween was designed ten years ago as a community event for families by local Paddington residents, Kerry and John Forsythe.

Since 2013, the Forsythes have organised their neighbourhood ‘trick or treat’, as well as hosting the home-made haunted house in their garage on the evening of the 31st of October.

The Haunted House at 40 Hayward St…

This has been the place of places on October 31, where people stopped on their trick-or-treat tour, knocking for candy and walking through the Forsythe’s home, completely decked out with horrors for young and old!

Built in their garage as a walk-through experience, the Haunted house was designed for robust kids over the age of six, with nervous parents welcomed to walk through and check it out first! For the younger or more sensitive kids, they had a child-friendly display on their veranda and at the front of their house. All neighbours and friends were welcome, but the event grew in populatory, with more than 400 people attending the event in the year before Covid.

Paddington Councillor, Peter Matic, has even closed down the street each year to allow for the growing numbers!

Gold coins to help struggling Brisbane families

Paddington Halloween has always been about community and raising money… all proceeds from the donations on the door of the haunted house have gone to the Forsythe’s chosen charity each year.

This year, Kerry and Caylie are excited to announce that they will be hosting the tenth Paddington Halloween when our wonderful streets will once again be filled with ghouls and goblins, witches and Trumps, all looking to frighten or forage, trick or treat!

The original Haunted House on Hayward has moved to 144 Latrobe Terrace, where those Paddo girls are transforming The Paddington Then & Now Community Hub to open its sqeaky, screechy, cobwebby doors to local children and adults who love to be scared out of their wits, for the cost of a gold coin (which will be donated to local charity, Precious Wings).

Come on over! We double dare you…
